As of April 1st, I am leaving Aycron. I will no longer be a partner at the company. It was a tough decision, but my partners and I believe it’s the best for both Aycron and me. I learned a lot during the last two years. I leave with many good memories and I will surely miss all the Aycroners. I wish Aycron all the best and I know they will do very well. A few facts about this decision: This...

If you have a teacher (of any sort) that you cannot please, that you cannot learn from, that is unwilling to take you where you need to go because he is defending the status quo and demonstrates your failure on whatever report card he chooses to use, you could consider yourself a failure. Or you could remind yourself… Grades are an illusion Your passion and insight are reality Your work...

Please meet Cloak Bag, the world’s first shoot-through camera bag. Brilliant! Watch this video to see how the bag works. This is so going on my wishlist!

Shared by etagwerker Espero que no sean sólo palabras.

REWORK, our new book on starting, building, and growing — or not growing — a business was released one week ago today. The book is selling out around the country and rocketed to #3 on Amazon.com’s bestseller list. Thanks to everyone who picked up a copy and spread the word. But there’s this book right ahead of it by this guy named Karl Rove. Heard of him? Turns out his book just came out too. And...

This google voice voicemail transcript kind of freaked me out: “Hey Ernesto, it’s the day care, hi, give me a call back on this on my cell when you get the message. Thanks. Bye. “ Good thing it wasn’t really ‘the day care’ calling me.

I hate to hear this “We have to stick to the plan” Just because you made a plan it doesn’t *mean* you have to stick to it. Plans are a living entity, they evolve. They aren’t set in stone. If you think plans are set in stone, you are dangerous.

You’re looking at this picture and trying to understand, maybe to name it. Please don’t. Get carred away. No meaning, no labelling. Just travel with this picture. That’s why you’ll see some “untitled” posts on this blog occasionally. You also need some mental drifting, right? via Namehimgeorge Permalink | Leave a comment »

Last year, we released a public data search feature that enables people to quickly find useful statistics in search. More recently, we expanded this service to include information from the World Bank, such as population data for every region in the world. More and more public agencies, non-profits and other organizations are looking for ways to open up their data and expand global access to this...

The owners of the vehicles in these photos have some ridiculously real problems. How these vehicles got in these predicaments is beyond me and anyone’s guess but it is going to take some real effort on somebody’s part to get them fixed. Startups need people able and willing of doing the actual work. They need programmers, designers, and eventually folks to do marketing, support, and more. What they don’t need, though, is someone who’s just going to be The Idea Guy. You know the type. It’s the “this thing is going to be Facebook meets Flickr, but for dogs! If we can just get 1% of the online dog market, we’ll be rich!” spiel. All...

I am all for couples being affectionate. I like to see couples showing affection. But is there anything more annoying than seeing/hearing affectionate couples right after you broke up with someone?
